SHEA e-learning

SHEA e-Learning is an online training learning and assessment course for the renewal of a SHEA EUSR registration.

Maintaining the integrity of the results of any assessment is critical.  For the assessment result to be valued by employers, they must be confident that the results are reliable and consistent and accurately reflect the individual’s knowledge or understanding. Our approval for this new e-Learning scheme and any e-Assessment demonstrates to employers that the risk of malpractice – such as cheating, collusion or identify fraud – is removed.

You don’t need to be an Energy & Utility Skills Approved Provider or Approved Trainer to access this new scheme, but to maintain the reliability and consistency of the e-Assessment results you will need to be approved by us. Our approval criteria is detailed within our e-Assessment Self-Assessment Report (SAR)

About the SHEA e-Assessment approval process

Step 1: Discussions with our Quality team. We support you all through the approval process, offering advice and guidance on how to complete and evidence the e-Assessment approval criteria.

Step 2: Submit the signed e-Assessment SAR including all your supporting evidence. We review your SAR and if we have any questions, require additional information, or need to visit you to check arrangements, we will get in touch.

Step 3: We confirm approval – sometimes there may be actions we need you to take, or recommend you take, within an agreed timescale. If you’re not approved, you will understand the reasons why and what you need to do in order to get approved.

Step 4: You are approved to deliver e-Assessment. We will provide you with support and guidance on how to use our online registration, QuartzWeb, and how to access our CBL system through the Authorised Users section of our website.

About Pricing

The prices for approval and EUSR registration on all of our schemes, including SHEA e-Learning, are detailed in our Price List published on our website.

About SHEA e-Learning

SHEA e-Learning is available for the following SHEA schemes:

  • SHEA Core
  • SHEA Gas
  • SHEA Power
  • SHEA Telecommunications
  • SHEA Water

As with the Half-Day SHEA Renewal scheme, the content for SHEA e-Learning is taken from the full-day SHEA scheme and there are the same number of modules.

The modules are taken, one after the other, in order, to progress through to the e-Assessment. The e-Learning and e-Assessment will take approximately 2 – 2.5 hours in total to complete. The e-Learning can be paused at the end of each module and returned to at a later time to complete. There is only one assessment, taken once all the modules have been completed, and once this has been started, it cannot be paused.

CSCS Partner Card scheme

For SHEA to retain CSCS Partner Card status, we must comply with their assessment requirements. This includes making sure all SHEA assessment criteria are mapped to their Level 1 Award in Health and Safety in a Construction Environment.

It is a mandatory requirement that every SHEA assessment, including e-Assessment,  is invigilated. Invigilation mitigates the risk of identify fraud, cheating or collusion and helps maintain the integrity and value of a CSCS Partner Card and SHEA to employers.
