Utilities Managing Health & Safety


Overview

This Endorsed Training Programme is operated by Wales & West Utilities. It is aimed at all operational staff working for utility companies, asset owners, large contractors, small contractors and the self-employed.

The 5 day programme is designed to refresh some areas and assess the existing competencies for individuals on the core mandatory skill areas.

The key benefits are:

  • Ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Ensuring management compliance with areas of mandatory staff safety skills.
  • Refresh and update of knowledge in some areas for individuals to ensure that they are current.

Objectives

On completion of the programme individuals will have been assessed against the requirements of Wales & West Utilities’ network company policy in the following areas:

  • Confined Spaces (HS05)
  • Environmental Awareness (HS39)
  • HAVS (HS19)
  • PUWER and LOLER (HS24)
  • Asbestos (HS50)
  • First Aid (HS17)
  • Personal Security (HS34)
  • Health & Safety Legislation (HS20)
  • COSHH (HS08)
  • Noise at Work (HS51)
  • Manual Handling (HS24)
  • Risk Assessment (HS31)
  • Fire Control (HS11)
  • Cat & Genny (DE11)
  • Reported Gas Escapes (TSE02)
  • Gascoseeker mk2

Registration

Registration on EUSR is valid for 5 years from date of training.
