Become an EUSR Approved Trainer or Approved Provider​​

There are two different routes to approval, depending on the EUSR schemes you want to deliver.

Become an Approved Trainer

Become an EUSR Approved Trainer to deliver the following EUSR Schemes:

  • Safety Health Environment Awareness Suite (SHEA)
  • National Water Hygiene (NWH)
  • Safe Control of Operations (SCO)
  • Products for Drinking Water (PfDW)

You need to become an Approved Trainer to deliver these schemes as approval is at an individual, rather than organisation level. 

For NWH, SHEA and SCO schemes, you will need to evidence you meet the following approval criteria:

  • A current EUSR registration for the scheme you wish to deliver
  • Knowledge and understanding of current working practices within the relevant industry
  • Relevant career history – a minimum of two years’ work experience in the relevant industry
  • Two professional references
  • Training qualifications (or working towards)
  • Experience in training and/or assessment 
  • A current H&S qualification or training certificate such as IOSH or NEBOSH

For the PfDW scheme, you will need to evidence you meet the following approval criteria:

  • An in-depth working knowledge of the Regulations for Products for Drinking Water (Regulation 31 and 33)
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in the Water Industry (plus exposure to the application/use of Products for Drinking Water Regulations Reg 31/33)
  • Attended a Products for Drinking Water Training passed the PfDW assessment and hold a valid PfDW EUSR registration

Plus at least one of the following:

  • Knowledge of reporting procedures and Water Quality Regulator ways of communication
  • Toxicology background
  • Laboratory awareness (Test houses will be appropriate)
  • Water Quality Team background
  • Product supplier background

Other/ General:

  • A Teaching or training and assessment qualification or a minimum of 2 years’ experience of training and assessment                  
  • Two references  (from Line Management within the Water Industry)
  • Desirable would be to hold a National Water Hygiene EUSR Registration

Become an Approved Provider

For all EUSR schemes (other than NWH, SHEA, SCO), the first step is to become an Approved Provider. Once approved, you can have your training programme approved. Please visit the Scheme Search for a full list of our schemes that you could get approved to deliver.

Ongoing Quality Assurance

Once you are approved, you can use EUSR logos on your website, marketing materials, certificates and communications.

We also monitor training, assessment and administration activity on an ongoing basis. You have at least one audit a year, and we will sample your delivery, assessment, standardisation and IQA activities.

Endorsed Training Programmes

Getting your own training programme that is not in our scheme list endorsed by us is a simple process.

The first step is to become an Approved Provider. Once approved, you can then get your training programme endorsed.
