Polyethylene Butt & Electrofusion Jointing (McCrae Training)

The Polyethylene Butt & Electro-fusion training programme has been developed to offer a practical introduction to individuals working within the water utility sector and wishing to gain experience, confidence and competence in jointing of polyethylene pipe and fittings. The course will also further enhance the skills and experience of individuals already working within water distribution network construction operations.


Aims and Objectives

The course aims to highlight the importance of correct equipment selection, ensuring equipment is fit for purpose, preparation and lay out of the site and the materials to be welded. Jointing of water supply pipe uti 63mm OD and its connection to the network distribution system by fusion welding will also be covered.

The course will also cover correct handling techniques and give an appreciation of pipe pressure ratings , including how they affect weld parameters. The course will place an emphasis on work practices to meet with current Water Industry Specifications and Regulations and individuals will be guided through these relevant industry standards.
