About the Scheme

SHEA Water is our one day Health, Safety and Environmental Awareness scheme for those working on operational sites.

A CSCS Alliance scheme.

It is developed in collaboration with employers and key stakeholders from across the industries in our sector, so the content is relevant – all helping to improve the safety of the workforce and reduce costs associated with injury, illness or accidents.

Modules

SHEA Water consists of the following 8 modules:

  • Module 1: Understanding our workplace responsibilities
  • Module 2: Understanding the effects of our work on the environment
  • Module 3: Identifying and controlling risks
  • Module 4: Common hazards and controls in the workplace
  • Module 5: Occupational health hazards
  • Module 6: Responding to emergencies
  • Module 20: Clean and waste water operations
  • Module 21: Highway working and excavations (water)

Delivery

For the initial SHEA Water EUSR registration, there are two routes:

Duration
Full Day  Face to face training delivery in a classroom and paper-based assessment
Full Day Remote training delivery via an e-Classroom and either remote assessment or e-assessment

Assessment

SHEA assessments (tests) are multiple choice and structured so that there is an assessment per module. They can be taken one module at a time, or all together at the same time.

Reminder: It is a specific condition for all CSCS Partner Card Schemes that assessments are invigilated. Invigilation of assessments will ensure the results are authentic and reliable, and mitigate the risk of identity fraud, cheating or collusion.

Registration on EUSR

SHEA Water EUSR registration is valid for three years.

Renewal of SHEA Water EUSR registration

For the renewal of SHEA Water EUSR registration, there are several routes:

Duration  Training Delivery & Assessment Method

Half Day  Face to face training delivery in a classroom and paper-based assessment

CSCS Partner

The CSCS Logo gives individuals access to CSCS controlled operational sites for utilities work.

The EUSR ID card carries the CSCS Logo which reduces the need for individuals to carry more than one card.

CITB Short Course

We are a recognised third-party awarding organisation with CITB, and our SHEA training and assessments are mapped to the standards for the CITB Level 1 Award in Health and Safety in a Construction Environment – meaning all SHEA schemes are CSCS Alliance schemes.

This scheme is recognised by CITB for short course duration funding purposes and can be offered by Approved Training Organisations (ATOs). To find out more about CITB short course duration grants, click here.
