Frequently Asked Questions about the new Energy & Utility Skills Register Pricing Policy

Why are the EUSR prices changing?

This is the first price review of EUSR since it was launched in the Spring of 2005. Since this date, EUSR has grown significantly in size, scope and sector recognition and we now host more than 20 schemes for the sector.

One objective behind the new price structure is to allow the processes involved in hosting the register to become less complicated and provide a more transparent and consistent understanding of how each scheme is priced.
We have not gone through this process in isolation and having bench-marked this new approach against comparable registers, we are confident that we continue to offer the service at a competitive rate.

What does this mean for trainers?

Simplified pricing with one fixed fee for registrations. Schemes with multiple endorsements will now benefit from the £20 flat rate.

What does with mean for Members?

Simplified pricing with one fixed fee for registrations, ensuring that Members are still entitled to their full quarterly Membership discount.
Why are my Re-registrations and Upgrades costing me more?
Our pricing structure has not changed since the EUSR was launched in Spring 2005, however over this period the EUSR has seen a great deal of growth in both registrations held, the introduction of CSCS affiliation which is a benefit for all sectors and also enhanced online capabilities.
It should be recognised that an independent web based register for this rate is a considerable benefit to industry.

Why do Members not receive discount on replacement cards?

Members receive a discount off each registration application - prices for replacement lost and stolen cards are administrative charges for existing cardholder registrations. Replacement card prices have been reduced from £15 to £10 so members will still be paying the same price but will benefit from the lower price immediately rather than waiting for their quarterly rebate.

Are the new prices inclusive of VAT?

All new prices exclude VAT and this cost must be included for registrations, as normal.

When are these prices affective from?

The new pricing policy takes affect from 1 January 2010.

What about applications from courses run prior to 1 January 2010?

These applications must be received by 31 January 2010. All trainers are still subjected to the 28 days standard of service, for further information please refer to your trainer code of practice.

What will the cost be from 1 January 2010?

Will there be any further changes to the pricing policy?

As this is the first ever price review of EUSR and to ensure we continue to provide excellent customer service, excellent product service and value for money, it has been agreed that we will carry out an annual review around this time each year. Please note that future reviews could mean that the price remains the same, the price will be reduced, or that the price may be subject to an increase. Should any future changes occur then we will write to you in advance and provide you with three months notice.
