Administration Guidelines

Best endeavours will be made by Energy & Utility Skills (EU Skills) to process applications as soon as possible, however this is dependant upon the application process being adhered to by all trainers (or administrators).

  • All applications must be submitted to EU Skills as soon as possible after the training/ assessment. Ideally this should be within three days. Delay may cause problems in getting the card to the trainee before the operative cover note expires. Please avoid holding on to applications. Utility SHEA applications must be submitted within 28 days or they will be returned.
  • Original application forms should be submitted. A copy should be retained in a secure location by the trainer or training centre. For Utility SHEA applications, the original marking sheets must be supplied and a copy retained by the training provider.
  • Applications following training courses must be collated by training session with a copy of the attendance register attached. Please remember, with the exception of Cross Country Pipelines Health, Safety & Environment (CCPHSE) no more than 12 applications per training session.
  • A registration batch form should be completed and sent with the applications. A generic copy is attached to this website, however it should be supplied by the training provider. Utility SHEA applications must be submitted using the batch form generated by the trainer's course materials.
  • Please do not use staples as all documents will be scanned for our records.

Completing Forms

All sections of the registration form should be completed in ink using block capitals. The applicant details should be clear and easy to read for our administrative staff - e.g. checking letters such as "V" and "U" could not be mistaken.
Forms should not appear to have been altered e.g. by using Tippex
All registration, supporting forms and marking sheets, must be signed by the trainer, and by the applicant where space is provided on the form.

Payment

Payment in full must accompany all applications. Further details are available on the payment guidelines page.
