Leakage Detection & Control (Water)
Scheme Overview
The Leakage Detection & Control (Water) scheme has been developed to provide Water Companies with the ability to ensure that the leakage detection operatives and leakage control technicians working on their networks have received a suitable level of training and assessment to carry out their operations. It has been developed alongside the National Occupational Standards (NOS) for leakage detection and control operations.
Assessment for the scheme may be via S/NVQ or via a recognised programme of learning that meets the requirements of the National Occupational Standards. Companies requiring endorsement of their training programme should consult the Recognised Learning Programme section of this website.
Applicants who have previously completed the S/NVQ may apply for registration.
How do I get a EUSR Leakage Detection and Control card?
Final registration is based upon the successful completion of a suitable programme of learning. This can be either an S/NVQ at level 2 in Leakage Detection, an S/NVQ at level 3 in Leakage Control or completion of a recognised learning programme. Copies of the appropriate certificates must be provided to gain registration.
Provisional registration may also be obtained for Apprentices, New Entrants to the industry and Experienced Workers to gain a registration card while the S/NVQ or recognised learning programme is completed. Applicants must be registered with the awarding body to complete the S/NVQ, or be registered by the organisation operating the recognised learning programme that they will be completing.
All applicants must hold a valid National Water Hygiene Card, Utility SHEA (Water) Card and NRSWA Card showing module 2.
Details of all recognised routes to registration can be found here.
