Multi Layered Pipe

Scheme Overview

The Multi-Layered/ ProFuse Pipe endorsement covers working with ProFuse (peelable) plastic pipes manufactured by Radius Systems (previously Uponor). It is an endorsement of an existing qualification and shows that the card holder has received training and assessment in the specialist skills, procedures and practices which are unique to the ProFuse system.

A Multi-Layered pipe endorsement does not show competence in laying any pipe sizes. It cannot be used as evidence that a person is qualified to lay a pipe.

Multi-Layered pipe is available in three sizes.

  • Small - pipes up to 180mm
  • Medium - pipes up to 355mm
  • Large - pipes over 400mm

In order to be registered a trainee must have already achieved certain pre-requisites. These can be found in the chart attached but briefly comprises:

How do I get an Energy & Utility Skills Register (EUSR) Card?

Registration is based on successful completion of a training course. Once the necessary paperwork and payment have been received by Energy & Utility Skills a card will be issued within 28 days as long as all pre-requisites are also met.

Training is delivered through a network of trainers who have been trained and approved by the manufacturers of the pipe, Uponor. A list of approved trainers and training providers is available on this website.
