Gas Network Safety Passport

Scheme Overview

The Gas Network Safety Passport (GNSP) was developed in line with Health & Safety Executive best practice guidance for passport schemes to provide a uniform approach to health, safety and environmental awareness training nationwide. It applied to all persons who required access to gas sites, both mobile and fixed which engaged in operations on the gas network.

Expiry

A GNSP card was valid for three years from date of training.

The Gas Network Safety Passport scheme was replaced in 2006 with Utility SHEA (Gas).
Unexpired GNSP cards remain valid until their expiry date, however upon expiry must be replaced by completing the Utility SHEA (Gas) scheme.
